Overview

Earned Equity is an operate-to-own holding company. We buy cash-flowing small businesses and partner with experienced operators who earn their way to majority ownership over time. We do not flip. We hold, build, and stay.

We wrap every acquisition with a tight advisory layer, and we are looking for an industry advisor for a quickservice multi-unit franchise business we are moving on. This is a board seat, not a consulting retainer.

What The Role Looks Like

  • Serve as a board member on the company's 3-person governance board: you, the operator, and an Earned Equity principal.
  • Review deals in your industry before close: refine the diligence list, flag risks, spot growth levers, and define the operator profile we are targeting.
  • Interview operator candidates and participate in the final-round evaluation.
  • Monitor performance post-close, with approximately 10 hours per month and ongoing reports to Earned Equity on business health and operator execution.
  • Optionally refer businesses you know personally, especially owners in your network who are thinking about succession before they go to market.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Current or former owner/operator of a multi-unit quickservice franchise business.
  • Deep industry and/or local and regional relationships.
  • Experience managing full P&Ls, teams, and customer relationships, with a clear view of what good looks like in this space.
  • Interest in mentoring the next generation of owner-operators, not just sitting on a board.

Compensation

  • Profit interest in the operating company.
  • Right to co-invest alongside Earned Equity on identical terms.
  • No guaranteed salary. This is a skin-in-the-game structure.
